About Gongspace Mallorca
GONGSPACE MALLORCA (gongspacemallorca.com) opened in 2024 and is a website selling exclusive gongs and gong mallets, as well as gong accessories. In addition, on-site therapeutic offerings are available in Mallorca in the field of frequency therapy: gong resonance and bioresonance (according to Paul Schmidt), sound journeys with gongs, and gong ceremonies.
The owner of GONGSPACE MALLORCA, Matthias Dahms, is an experienced musician, sound therapist, author and seminar leader. He has been researching in these fields since 1992, working on the development of a new therapy method and always searching for the best gongs available.
At GONGLAND, the manufacturer from northern Germany founded by Rolf Nitsch, he finally found gongs that met his high standards for quality and sound, and that fit perfectly with the therapy method he had developed. Almost every gong sold by GONGSPACE MALLORCA was personally crafted and/or selected by Rolf Nitsch.
GONGSPACE MALLORCA is the realisation of selling gongs through a website that offers only premium-class gongs.
Matthias studied classical percussion at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe and at the Universität der Künste Berlin, specialising in orchestral music, music education, artistic training and concert examinations.
He took part in masterclasses and workshops with Keiko Abe, Peter Sadlo, Reinhard Flatischler, Rashied Ali, Billy Hart, Dave Weckl, Billy Cobham, Ed Soph, Pete York, Richard Beirach, David Liebman, Jerry Granelli, Douglas Hammond, Jamey Aebersold, David Friedman, Johnny L. Lane, Dudu Tucci, Bill Molenhof, Gerald Cleaver, Ed Thigpen, John Cage and others.
His training was rounded off by study visits to Taiwan, where he studied Chinese five-element teachings, energy work and Far Eastern meditation techniques with Jing-Yi Hsieh and Master Chen in Taichung, as well as Reiki training.
He has performed internationally as a soloist, in chamber-music ensembles and with the New Chamber Orchestra Berlin, and has led seminars at universities and academies in Germany and abroad.
His research focuses on sound therapy as an aid to the body’s self-healing.
The German Society for Traditional Chinese Medicine wrote: “His extraordinary intuition and his training in the field of healing sound baths connect with the ancient TCM tradition of assigning people an inner sound as an expression of their individuation (the unique individual characterisation of their personality).” (A. Heil)
